It's understandable that you may feel nervous before your first lesson, but try to
remember that you will be in a class with other beginners & they will probably be feeling the exact same way as you!
Here's bit information to put your mind at rest and to answer some of the common questions people ask before their first pole/aerial lesson.
1. Am I too old, too unfit, too over weight?
We recommend our lessons for students over 16 years old. There is definitely no upper age limit! Our classes are enjoyed by ladies of all shapes and sizes.
Exercises can be adapted to suit everyone; although the tricks look hard, behind every move there is technique which we will teach you, by the end of a course students are surprised at how much they've achieved! :)
2. I'm not sure if I want to come to a class?
Why not come along & have a try, you don't have to commit to a course, lessons can be booked on a one off basis.
3. What happens in a pole/aerial class?
Our classes are an 1 hour long. We start with a full warm up & stretching. We then go on to the pole/aerial apparatus where you will learn tricks, spins, climbs & transitions. We also to body strengthening & conditioning moves so that you gain the strength needed to carry out the harder tricks as you advance.
4. What do I wear?
FOR POLE- Its best to wear shorts as it’s your skin that grips to the pole material will make you slip, although if you don't have any or don't feel confident enough to begin with leggings will be fine. A sports top or vest top.
FOR AERIAL CLASSES- Leggings/Gym wear with a long top (skin must be covered)
6. What are the benefits of Pole & Aerial?
Pole & Aerial are a perfect way to get fit, during a class you burn as many calories as a good gym session, helping you to get fit & increase upper body strength, muscle
tone & definition & improves core stability, posture & coordination.
Like many forms of dance, it helps you increase your flexibility, giving you long lean muscles. Whilst advanced aerialists may make it seem effortless, spinning & climbing the apparatus, it is a lot more strenuous than it looks! Imagine having to support your entire body weight with one arm or leg!
And best of all you’ll have fun, forget your worries & meet lots of new lovely friends :)
What happens if I need to cancel?
We understand that sometimes you need to cancel or reschedule your lesson due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances.
We run a strict 12 HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY- if you don't give 12 hours notice when cancelling a class you will be charged for that lesson.
We can only take a small amount of students per class, if we don't have enough notice we will be unable to fill your space- Thank you
Hope I've answered a few questions
here :) if there’s anything else you need to know just ask :)
